Love
The human heart is so fickle. And I know I'm not the first to notice. How does one decide whether you are fighting to save the safest thing you know, or you're fighting to save something that's doomed to failure? And if you've been doing it off and on for 25 years, do you call it quits or do you call it successful?

Joy & Freedom
My son goes to school with the brother of Wallace Westfeldt. These videos show that in this world, despite it all, there is joy and freedom. And loss. I think I found a new hero. Rest in Peace.

What's beside your bed?
I have 30 books beside my bed. Six of them are cookbooks. I'm sure they would be more useful in the kitchen. Maybe.

As I was saying...
Whine, whine, whine....the sun is finally out...whine, whine, whine.

Back to Work
I've been off for 3 work days, plus my usual 3 day weekend. I love my job but would really like to have about two more months off. I haven't done much with my time off. I really need a "job environment" to give me the structure necessary to accomplish tasks. But nonetheless, I want more time off.

When being a good communicator becomes a liability
I have two sisters, one older, one younger. (I was the oldest till I was 12 but that's another 6 posts.)
Of the three of us, I am the only one speaking to my mother. She would talk to my younger sister (who most certainly would not talk to her) but not my older sister (who might take a call).
My younger sister won't talk to my older sister, though my older sister would probably talk to my younger sister if the opportunity arouse. And either one of them rarely is the one to call me.
It really increases my phone call obligations.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
"Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to open the doors of opportunity to all of God’s children. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood."
Martin Luther King, Jr

Now, January 21, 2008, would be a good time also.
